The teen survived a gunshot wound to her head, but is still recovering from “significant injuries,” according to police.

A third man is facing charges in connection with a shooting earlier this year in Easton that left a 16-year-old girl seriously injured.

Antonio Fonseca, 19, of Brockton was arrested Friday on charges of assault and battery with a firearm, armed robbery, carrying a firearm without a license, and possession of a large capacity firearm, Easton police announced.

Anthony Lopes and Xavion Barnes, both of Brockton, were arrested earlier this year in connection with the Jan. 14 shooting.

Police responded to the Avalon Easton Apartments on Roberts Drive after a 911 call reporting a shooting. At the scene, they found a 16-year-old girl suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. She survived, but police said on Friday she is still recovering from “significant injuries.”

Easton police said Fonseca was arrested Friday in Brockton with help from Brockton and State Police. He pleaded not guilty to the charges during his arraignment on Friday and is being held without bail pending a dangerousness hearing, according to court filings.

An attorney for Fonseca did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

“I’d like to commend our Detective Division for their work on this case and thank the numerous law enforcement agencies that assisted us with the investigation,” Easton Police Chief Keith Boone said in a statement.
